A favorite of the Fernseed team.
Split Rock or (Pleiospilos nelii) not to be confused with the Lithops(Aizoaceae);is a stemless succulent plant native to South Africa. Only able to grow a couple of inches in height and width by absorbing it’s older leaves, this slow growing plant is a funky phenomenon.
Thriving in an indirect sunny and warm home this is a fairly easy succulent to keep if you’re ok with not seeing much growth right away. The split rock only grows four new leaves at a time, unless it is growing offshoots. Any more leaves than that can be a sign of overwatering.
- Care Difficulty: Easy
- Bright indirect light.
- Water when soil is completely dry.
- Toxic to pets.
